2 TODAY LA MIRADA HIGH
Ever since Mission Viejo won the Excalibur Tournament, the top-seeded Diablos have been on a roll. They won the South Coast League title and haven’t been defeated since losing to Santa Margarita in mid-December. They are making their third appearance in a final in four years, winning the Division I title in 1998. Second-seeded Buena had a 36-game winning streak ended when it tied Esperanza in the Mater Dei tournament in early December. The next day, the Bulldogs suffered their only defeat of the season, against Arcadia. Buena, which is trying to win its second-consecutive and third Division II title, has a 12-game winning streak and is unbeaten in 25 games. Kendal Billingsley, headed to UCLA, leads Mission Viejo.
