Foothill’s Bigler Scores 52 Points in Win

Foothill’s Chad Bigler scored a school-record 52 points to help Foothill rout visiting Santa Ana Valley, 83-49, in a Century League boys’ basketball game Tuesday at Foothill High.
In addition to outscoring Santa Ana Valley by himself, Bigler also had a game-high 15 rebounds as Foothill (11-12, 3-4) took a 42-23 halftime lead.
The Falcons dropped to 11-13, 3-4.
In another Century League game:
No. 7 Villa Park 83, Orange 26--Bryce Prather had 16 points and seven rebounds, Kyle Hogan had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Corey Miller had 10 points and 10 assists for visiting Villa Park (18-5, 7-0).
In Olympic League boys’ soccer:
Whittier Christian 1, Sierra Madre Maranatha 0--Sam Palescue scored in the 20th minute off an assist from Abe Santos to win it for host Whittier Christian (3-9-2, 1-3-2).
In Freeway League girls’ water polo:
Buena Park 9, Fullerton 8--Megan Henry scored two goals, including the game-winner with one second left after Kelly Britton tied it with 31 seconds remaining for host Buena Park (13-11, 6-1).
In Freeway League wrestling:
Troy 55, La Habra 19--Brian Roth (103), Tim Chang (112), Philip Gomez (119) and Joe Manzari (125) pinned their opponents for the host Warriors (5-1, 4-0).
In the Golden West League:
Saddleback 54, Tustin 21--Pedro Barajas (119 pounds) and Reyes Padilla (135) each recorded a pin for host Saddleback (9-2, 2-1).
