Former Goleta Dos Pueblos High football Coach Jeff Hesselmeyer and his wife pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Santa Barbara Superior Court to charges of cultivation of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 27, when a trial date could be determined, said Santa Barbara Deputy District Attorney Tracy Grossman.
Jeff Hesselmeyer, 49, and his wife Jennie, 45, were arrested at their home July 31.
Santa Barbara Police detectives, acting on a tip, obtained a search warrant and found about a half pound of marijuana, less than one gram of methamphetamine and 13 marijuana plants growing in the backyard, Sgt. Chris Moore said.
