The 2000 Cheerleading Championships will be held at the Laguna Hills Mall on Saturday. The event, which will be held at 27 sites across the country, is open to all recreational leagues, all-star teams, individual competitors and high school, junior high and elementary school teams.
Competitors may enter as many competitions as they wish. The top three teams from each division will be recognized at the national competition in April 2001.
The Simon Youth Foundation and AmeriCheer are teaming to host the nationwide event and are encouraging a fund-raising competition for all teams. All funds will benefit the Simon Youth Foundation, which fosters economic and career development in children.
