Chris Delung carried up the middle. Around right end. Around left end. Up the middle again.
Delung, in fact, had 52 carries in Simi Valley’s 55-22 loss to Crescenta Valley on Thursday.
Simi Valley had 66 plays, meaning Delung ran the ball on 78.9% of the Pioneers’ plays.
Delung hobbled off the field with an ankle injury midway through the fourth quarter but returned to
rush for 78 yards and a touchdown in six carries.
He finished with 255 yards and three touchdowns.
“That is a lot of carries, but when you’re in my system, it’s an honor to carry the ball,” said Coach Steve Carroll, who has implemented the double wing-T offense in his first year at Simi Valley.

Ebell’s opponents, for comparison’s sake: Simi Valley, Moorpark and Royal.
