Two Villa Park Girls Win Scramble Golf Tournament

Villa Park shot 148 to win the Santa Barbara San Marcos girls’ golf invitational Saturday at La Purisma in Lompoc.
Villa Park’s Priscilla Park and Megan Schindelbeck shared individual medalist honors, shooting a combined one-under-par 71 in the two-player scramble format.
At the Las Vegas Durango girls’ volleyball tournament:
Mater Dei takes second--Juniors Whitney Pavlik and Breegan Mulligan earned all-tournament honors for the Monarchs, who reached the final of the double-elimination tournament but lost to Stockton St. Mary’s, 15-9, 15-8.
Laguna Beach finished sixth and Irvine finished seventh.
At the Capistrano Valley volleyball tournament:
La Habra takes third--The Highlanders were the highest-placing county team, defeating host Capistrano Valley in the third-place match, 15-5, 15-13, 19-17. Jenny Habben had 11 kills and Keao Burdine added 10 for La Habra (5-1). Capistrano Valley is 5-2.
