7 TONIGHT BOLSA GRANDE HIGH
Woodbridge escaped last season’s opener, 21-20, when the snap on a point-after attempt forced holder Jacob Clark to make a run for the end zone with 24 seconds left. Clark didn’t make it, and neither did the Mariners. Woodbridge has five starters back on offense, six on defense; the Mariners have six on both sides of the ball. Pacifica can’t afford to give up the big play, such as the 45-yard touchdown run on Woodbridge’s first play a year ago. Woodbridge, meanwhile, plans on utilizing its talented receivers and athletic quarterback Jimmy Pearson.
