The Irvine operator of Koo Koo Roo, Chi-Chi’s and Hamburger Hamlet restaurant chains posted third-quarter net income of $46.1 million, or 16 cents a share, including a $61 million gain on the sale of its El Torito restaurants in June. A year ago, the company lost $9.5 million, or 5 cents a share. Sales from ongoing operations declined 4% to $78 million.
