Woman Hit by Car, Killed in Costa Mesa

A Texas woman was fatally injured when she was struck by a car Tuesday night while crossing Bristol Street in Costa Mesa, authorities said.
Laura Hinojosa, 38, of San Antonio, was in town to attend a business seminar, Costa Mesa Police Lt. John FitzPatrick said. The incident happened at 6:50 p.m. when she stepped into oncoming traffic on Bristol near Anton Boulevard, he said. She was treated at the scene and transported to Coastal Communities Hospital in Santa Ana, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Hinojosa will not be charged, FitzPatrick said.
