A 3-year-old boy found wandering unaccompanied in a gas station parking lot Monday night was reunited with his parents Tuesday morning after police had conducted an exhaustive search for them.
According to police, residents saw the boy wandering near Sherman Way and Tampa Avenue on Monday night around 11 p.m. Residents called police, who took the boy to the LAPD’s West Valley Station.
The child was unable to tell officers where he lived. Police were unable to locate the parents, and planned a news conference to ask the community for help.
Before the news conference took place, however, the parents reported the boy missing, police said. The child was released to the parents.
