Mission San Juan Capistrano is featuring an exhibition of the late painter Mabel Alvarez. Among the works on display is Alvarez’s celebrated “Blue Madonna.”
Alvarez was a prolific painter in the 1920s and ‘30s, with her work being displayed in prominent art galleries throughout the United States.
The exhibit runs through Jan. 4 in the Barracks Gallery, 31522 Camino Capistrano. Information: (949) 234-1300.
