The Cypress Cultural Arts Commission invites residents to get ready for the holidays and join the annual holiday decorating contest.
Outside displays will be judged the evenings of Dec. 13 to 15. Judging categories will include the most creative use of lights, best lawn decorations, best use of animation, best homemade decorations, most beautiful, most inspiring, most whimsical, honorable mentions and best overall sweepstakes award.
Entries are free and all participants will receive a certificate. The winner of the sweepstakes award will receive a proclamation from the City Council at its January meeting.
Contest applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce and Cypress Community Center, 5700 Orange Ave. Applications must be returned by Dec. 12. Information: (714) 229-6780.
