Man Disappears While Swimming at Lake Piru Dam

PIRU — A 30-year-old man swimming with family and friends in Lake Piru was reported missing Saturday afternoon and believed drowned, authorities said.
Vy Xuan Dang of Garden Grove was last seen about 12:30 p.m. near a dam at the lake, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
Dang’s friends told park rangers they were swimming with him when he disappeared, authorities said.
More than a dozen deputies and volunteers searched the lake and shoreline Saturday afternoon, while a team of divers conducted an underwater search. A helicopter also canvassed the area.
Dang had not been located as of 9 p.m. Saturday
