Centex Tile Acquires Two Area Land Title Companies

Centex Title, a unit of the Dallas-based Centex Corp., said it has acquired Benefit Land Title Co. and Benefit Land Title Insurance Co. of Santa Ana. Terms were not disclosed.
The purchase builds on Centex’s presence in Southern California. In 1997, the company acquired Westwood Insurance Agency in Sherman Oaks.
Benefit Land will continue to be managed by Gregory Winters and Stephen Chaya, two former Fidelity National Financial executives who bought the Santa Ana firm in 1991.
