A 35-year-old woman who was hit by a car Saturday as she crossed Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach died Sunday, police said.
Rene Nicole Robel, a transient, died early Sunday at UCI Medical Center in Orange of severe head injuries, Lt. Clyde Stuart said.
Stuart said the woman was crossing at Yorktown Avenue against a red light at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, when she was hit by a car driven by Janet Fournier, 70, of Newport Beach.
Police said Robel, who had ignored other drivers’ warnings, was intoxicated.
Stuart did not know if Fournier was cited. The accident remains under investigation.
