Three Los Angeles residents were arrested Wednesday after Orange County sheriff’s deputies found about $730 worth of stolen baby food in their car, authorities said.
Security guards at Sav-On Drugs on Plano Trabuco stopped Ramon Pineda, 24, and Kenia Zeron, 26, as they tried to leave the store with about $70 worth of Enfamil baby formula concealed in a large bag, said Sgt. Roger Neumeister of the Aliso Viejo sheriff’s substation.
When deputies searched the suspects’ car, they found more baby food believed to be stolen from other stores in the area, Neumeister said.
Deputies also found Jessica Carranza, 19, waiting in the car, Neumeister said.
Pineda, Zeron and Carranza were booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of felony burglary and possession of stolen property.
