Councilwoman Maria Moreno plans to propose a city charter amendment Tuesday that would give the council a direct say in the hiring of city officials.
Currently, the city administrator has full hiring authority. “The council must also be held accountable for those decisions,” Moreno said.
Moreno’s request will be made at the council’s regular 7:30 p.m. meeting at City Hall, 401 E. Chapman Ave.
