Tire Blows; Crash Kills L.A. Woman

A woman was killed and four people were injured after a tire blew out on their van as they were traveling in central Arkansas. Peggy R. Copeland, 47, of Los Angeles died after the Chevy van she was driving east on Interstate 40 at Blackwell blew its left rear tire, went off the road, hit a concrete culvert and rolled over, state police reported. A trooper said the tire, a Firestone, was not one of the tires included in the company’s safety recall.
