Flint Leads OCC Against Santa Ana

Orange Coast, led by sophomore quarterback Jared Flint, is off to an impressive start.
The Pirates (2-0) hope to continue their success when they take on Santa Ana (0-2) in a Mission Conference game at 1 today at Santa Ana Stadium.
Flint has thrown for a Mission Conference-best 587 yards and is tied for the conference lead in touchdown passes with seven. He set an OCC record with five scoring passes in a 42-25 victory over Saddleback last week.
Freshman tight end Ben Fredrickson has seven receptions--four for touchdowns--in two games. In other Mission Conference games:
El Camino (2-0) at Saddleback (1-1), 7 p.m.--The Gauchos were solid on offense last week against OCC, gaining 424 yards, but the defense gave up five first-half touchdowns. El Camino leads the conference in offense, averaging 506 yards per game.
Fullerton (0-2) at Long Beach (2-0), 7 p.m.--Fullerton extended its streak of not being shut out to 143 games with a late touchdown in a 50-6 loss to El Camino last week.
Golden West (0-2) at Cerritos (1-1), 7 p.m.--Golden West is playing better than it did a season ago, but the Rustlers’ losing streak has reached 12. Cerritos has 23 points in two games and Golden West has 35, but Cerritos is are coming off a 13-7 victory over Riverside.
