In the eight-man Express League:
Murrieta Calvary Chapel 48, Liberty Christian 0--Aaron Mendoza’s six-game streak with at least one touchdown reception was broken as Liberty Christian’s offense was held silent at Hare School Park in Garden Grove.
Mendoza had one catch for 10 yards to sustain his streak of nine games with at least one reception.
In the Redondo girls’ volleyball tournament:
Laguna Beach 1, No. 4 Calvary Chapel 0--Tournament MVP Kellie Cramm had six kills to lead Laguna Beach to a 15-9 victory in the championship game.
In nonleague girls’ volleyball:
No. 2 Newport Harbor 3, No. 8 Corona del Mar 2--Corona del Mar won the first two games, 15-6, 15-8. But Newport Harbro fought back to win the last three, 15-13, 15-7, 15-13.
No. 5 Huntington Beach 3, Santa Barbara San Marcos 1--After dropping the first game, 9-15, the Oilers came back to win, 15-7, 15-1, 15-5. Turi Wilson had 22 kills and Kelly Brockman had 20 for Huntington Beach (11-3).
In the Canyon boys’ water polo tournament:
Canyon 11, No. 10 Laguna Hills 9--Chris Meyer scored Canyon’s first seven goals to give the Comanches a big first-half lead in the championship game. Scott Barton made five of his six saves in the second quarter.
