SAN CLEMENTE

The City Council approved a proposal from SOLAG Disposal Inc. that will provide residents in certain areas of the city with green waste collection on the first and third weeks of the month. The service will coincide with San Clemente’s existing collection program at no cost to the city or SOLAG’s customers.
To help meet its goal of a 50% reduction in waste, the city will begin recycling tree branches, shrubs, grass, clean wood and other compost material, which residents will leave in 32-gallon containers or plastic bags on their neighborhoods’ regular collection days.
Collection will take place in most areas of the city, while communities with private streets will have the option of participating.
