Montclair Prep Mounts Late Winning Rally

Montclair Prep needed three consecutive on-side kick recoveries and 22 fourth-quarter points to defeat Kilpatrick, 43-42, in a nonleague game between unbeaten teams Friday night at Valley College.
The Mounties used a balanced attack to overshadow Mustang running back Jermaine Marshall’s performance of 194 yards and five touchdowns in 28 carries.
Jason Goss threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns for Montclair Prep.
He completed a two-point conversion to Jerome Dennis with less than 2:00 to play.
Montclair Prep found two more weapons, with receiver Deron Smith catching eight passes for 153 yards, including a 68-yard touchdown pass from Goss, and Justin Goss rushing for 107 yards in 16 carries, including two of the three fourth-quarter touchdowns.
Ron Adams Jr. caught his only pass of the game, an 18-yard score from Jason Goss, for the game’s final touchdown.
Salesian 33, St. Genevieve 0--Christopher Larios completed seven of 10 passes for 92 yards and three touchdowns for the host Mustangs (2-1-1) in a nonleague game at Pius X.
Larios had 33 yards and a touchdown in six carries.
St. Genevieve (0-4) was held to minus-32 yards rushing and quarterback Mike Pisano completed two of four passes for minus-one yard.
Elbert Mamaril provided St. Genevieve’s only highlight with an interception in the fourth quarter.
