Anteaters Land Atascadero Midfielder

Robby Busick, a senior at Atascadero High School, said he has committed to play soccer at UC Irvine. Busick, a midfielder, had 15 goals and seven assists last season, his second on the Atascadero varsity. He was named second-team All-Southern Section Division II.

VOLLEYBALL

Michelle Davis, a senior outside hitter from Santa Margarita High, committed to James Madison, Laguna Beach Volleyball Club Coach Michael Soylular said. Davis helped the Eagles win Southern Section titles the last three seasons.

* University’s Katie Brandt committed to Pennsylvania. Brandt led the Trojans in kills and digs this season.

MOTORSPORTS

Richard Hilton, owner of Anaheim-based Hilton Racing, announced the purchase of Brett Bodine Racing for NASCAR’s 2000 season. Hilton will continue to operate a NASCAR Winston West car for driver David Gilliland.
