Book lovers can participate in real-time conversations with authors through Barnes & Noble’s online chat sessions at https://www.barnesandnoble.com. Among those coming up are:
* Monday, 4 p.m.: Jamaica Kincaid will talk about her latest work, “My Garden,” a playful yet intimate look at gardens and the gardeners who tend them.
* Dec. 1, 4 p.m.: Frederick and Steven Barthelme will go online to talk about “Double Down,” which chronicles the brothers’ spiral into gambling after the death of their parents.
“StoryLines California” is a call-in radio show that focuses on regional literature.
On Sunday, the program will examine Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road” and will air readings of the book by Hector Elizondo. On Dec. 5, the panel of authors, experts and listeners will discuss Joan Didion’s “Slouching Toward Bethlehem.”
The program airs at 6 p.m. on KPFK-FM (90.7). Each Sunday through Dec. 26, a book about California will be part of a round-table discussion with listener participation.
