The City Council will announce the newest members of its commissions, committees and review boards today.
Councilwoman Mimi Walters said the city attracted more than 200 applicants for positions on city commissions when it incorporated 10 years ago. This time, 28 people applied for eight openings.
The council elected Cheryle Hodge and Joseph Orsak, both incumbents, to the Planning Commission.
Newcomer Gary Capata and incumbent Sam Cowan were voted to the Parks and Recreation Commission.
The council appointed Duane Donovan and incumbent William Harris to the Traffic and Transportation Committee and incumbent Jeffrey Grider to the Environmental Review Board.
The council also appointed Ray Silva to the Sports Advisory Committee.
