Rustlers Advance in Water Polo

Peter Valovic scored three goals to help Golden West to a 13-9 victory over Citrus in a semifinal game of the Southern California men’s water polo championship Friday.
Danny Johnson had eight steals and six assists to lead the Rustlers.
Golden West trailed, 2-0, after the first quarter, but rallied with nine goals in the next two quarters. Golden West (28-2-1) plays Riverside for the title at 7 p.m. today at Mt. San Antonio.
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Santa Ana 95, Los Angeles Harbor 57--Atari Parker scored a school-record 43 points for Santa Ana.
Southwestern 64, Saddleback 46--Carmen Gonzales had 28 points for Southwestern, which led 32-16 at halftime.
In Orange Empire Conference women’s volleyball:
Fullerton 3, Orange Coast 2--Alicia Franklin had 16 kills and Katy Moseley had 14 for host Fullerton (8-9, 3-9), which won, 15-12, 7-15, 4-15, 15-11, 15-13.
Golden West 3, Saddleback 0--Lori Daedelow had 18 kills to lead the Rustlers (19-0, 11-0) to a 15-5, 15-10, 17-15 victory. Golden West clinched at least a share of the conference title.
