Palmdale 24, Littlerock 6--The Falcons won their first league game behind a strong defensive effort at Palmdale.

Linebacker Anthony Diggs helped Palmdale (2-8, 1-4) limit tailback Rodney Woods to 53 yards rushing in 23 carries.

Woods scored on a five-yard run late in first half to pull the Lobos (6-4, 2-3) to within 7-6.

Jason McGoughy recovered two Woods’ fumbles in the third quarter. Mike Williams capitalized by connecting with Travis Ritchie for a 23-yard scoring pass play, giving Palmdale a 14-6 lead.

Williams scored with 2:07 left in the third quarter on a 31-yard run to increase the Falcons’ lead to 21-6.

Palmdale held Littlerock to 56 yards passing.

Jamil Smith blocked a punt in the first quarter and recovered the ball in the end zone for Palmdale’s first touchdown.
