THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Wednesday:

BREA

* East Imperial Highway: A petty theft was reported in the 2000 block at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday.

* East Birch Street: A petty theft was reported in the 900 block at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday.

* North Berry Street: A petty theft was reported in the 600 block at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday.

GARDEN GROVE

* Euclid Street: Police arrested a Garden Grove man on suspicion of committing vehicle burglaries in the 11000 block at 3 a.m. Sunday. The suspect was also charged with parole and firearm violations and possession of stolen property. A second suspect fled the scene after the Garden Grove man was detained.

* Harbor Boulevard and Quatro Avenue: Police issued about 60 citations and impounded 55 vehicles at a DUI checkpoint between 9 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday. Most of the vehicles were impounded because drivers were unlicensed. Two people were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

HUNTINGTON BEACH

* Slater Avenue: Two youngters attempted to steal boards from Chuck Dent Surf Center in the 7500 block at 2:07 p.m. Monday.

MISSION VIEJO

* Merit Circle: Two laptops were stolen from two business offices in the 26000 block between 12:15 and 1 p.m. Monday.

* Trabuco Road and Los Alisos Boulevard: A man was cited for being drunk in public at 12:05 a.m. Monday.

ORANGE

* East St. James Avenue and North Canal Street: Report of a drunk driver at 12:34 a.m. Saturday.

* West Grove Avenue: A car was stolen in the 700 block at 12:27 a.m. Saturday.

PLACENTIA

* Bluebell Avenue: A reckless driver was reported in the 300 block at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.

* East Yorba Linda Boulevard: A petty theft was reported in the 100 block at 6:01 p.m. Tuesday.

TUSTIN

* Bryan Avenue: Report of a house burglary in the 1000 block at 11:40 a.m. Sunday.

* Irvine Boulevard: A burglary alarm was triggered in the 18000 block at 4:24 p.m. Sunday.

* Bryan Avenue: A burglary alarm was triggered in the 2000 block at 1:13 a.m. Sunday.

* Utt Drive: Report of a car stolen in the 14000 block at 6:44 a.m. Sunday.

YORBA LINDA

* Yorba Linda Boulevard: A battery was reported in the 18000 block at 8:03 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports Wednesday: Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Dana Point, Fountain Valley, Fullerton, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, La Habra, Lake Forest, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Villa Park and Westminster.
