Concordia Wins, Advances to NAIA

Josh Giles had 22 points and Joel Burgess had 21 Tuesday to lead Concordia to an 85-68 victory over Westmont in the Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament championship at Whittier College.
With the victory, Concordia advanced to the NAIA tournament in Tulsa, Okla.
Harald Hofmann and Matt Sebastian each had 15 points for Concordia (20-15), which led, 43-37, at the half. The Eagles made 18 of 23 free-throw attempts and grabbed 37 rebounds. Chris Gonzales had 15 points and Corey Blick scored 14 to lead Westmont (26-5).
In the Sun West softball tournament:
Chapman 8, Elizabethtown (Pa.) 0 (5 innings)--Freshman Tiffany Hoskins (3-1) faced 15 batters and struck out eight in a perfect game for Chapman (7-1).
Chapman 13, Bellevue (Wash.) 2--Stephanie Carew had two hits and three RBIs as Chapman handed Bellevue (5-1) its first loss.
