Laguna Playhouse officials announced that they have hired two new senior staffers for development and marketing and engaged a fund-raising consulting firm to help with ongoing operations and a planned multimillion-dollar expansion.
Bernadine Griffin, who helped the Seattle Symphony raise $110 million for its new Benaroya Hall, has been named development director. She replaces Stacey Adams, who left six months ago.
William C. Martin, who created a group sales and marketing company in London and New York for producer Cameron Mackintosh (“Phantom of the Opera,” “Cats”), has been named the theater’s first marketing director.
Campbell & Company, Chicago-based fund-raising consultants, will help plan a capital campaign for the playhouse’s expansion into a recently acquired, next-door office complex. The firm assisted with the Benaroya Hall campaign and other similar arts campaigns around the country. No price tag or schedule has been set for the expansion, said playhouse executive director Richard Stein.
