The city of Los Angeles has a toll-free number for reporting vehicles abandoned on public streets or at abandoned buildings within the city limits. State law requires a minimum of 72 hours after an officer marks a vehicle before it can be removed.
To report an abandoned car, call (800) ABANDON or (800) 222-6366 and be ready to provide the following information: ZIP Code where the vehicle is located; street address or approximate block number of the location; nearest cross street; color, style and make of the vehicle; and license plate number, if possible.
To report a vehicle blocking a driveway, call (818) 756-9418.
