A leading expert on alcohol and drug addiction will head a free forum titled “Drug Abuse: How Effective Is Orange County’s War on Drugs?” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. March 10 at the Irvine Barclay Theatre. Dr. Joseph Pursch will speak at the UC Irvine- and Times Orange County-sponsored panel discussion, which will provide a range of perspectives on the drug abuse problem in the county and how it is being addressed.
The event is part of “Getting Smart on the Issues,” a series that examines issues of concern to Orange County residents. Reserved tickets are required and parking costs $4. Information: (949) 824-2751.
