The city is planning to develop a crime-prevention program to combat the numerous scams that target seniors. City Manager Leslie Keane said the program, which is in the initial discussion phase, will have education as one of its key components. “There are a lot of phone scams going on. We might hold seminars which discuss things to look for and questions to ask,” she said. Another idea, Keane said, is a citizen volunteer patrol that would make residents aware of crime-related incidents.
