Group to Offer Data on Beach Pollution
Information on ocean pollution for most of Southern California’s beaches will soon be available in one weekly report card produced by Heal the Bay, an environmental advocacy group.
Pollution readings from surf at 250 locations in Ventura, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Orange counties will be collected and interpreted by the group. The information will be available after June 18 on the group’s Web site at https://www.healthebay.org or by contacting the group at (310) 581-4188.
Water conditions will be graded on an A-to-F scale based on the risk that bacteria poses to human health. The weekly beach report card will be the only place where data from across Southern California are available.
