Agog at KCET’s ‘Grail’
Although I was forewarned by Mark Swed’s review (“Seeking the Holy Grail of Meaning,” July 7), I watched “Parsifal: The Search for the Grail” in utter amazement.
In the almost 78 years of my life, almost half of it in Europe and Latin America, I have never seen such a ludicrously stupid program as the one concocted by Tony Palmer. It does not speak very highly for the programming department of KCET that they selected this confused and confusing mishmash of half-baked ideas for their viewers.
There is a famous line from a Schiller play: “Against stupidity, even the gods fight in vain.” Mr. Palmer should take notice.
