The Civic Light Opera, which canceled its 1999 season because of a lack of funds, is slowly climbing out of its financial woes. Opera organizers are trying to raise $25,000 to pay the North Orange County Community College District for use of the 314-seat Forum Theatre for the 2000 season. Councilman Henry W. Wedaa, a longtime supporter, has contributed $5,000, and Councilwoman Barbara Kiley got a $2,000 community grant from Pacific Bell for the theater group. Community leaders also are planning an auction to raise money.
