The Planning Commission tonight will hold a public hearing on a proposed housing development at Bastanchury Road and Valencia Avenue. Some residents near the site want the city to build a park along with the 16 houses. But other residents would rather see more housing, said Joyce Rosenthal, the city’s director of development services. Both houses and a park would fit the neighborhood’s zoning designation of low-density residential. If the project is approved by the Planning Commission, it will go before the City Council. The commission meets at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 401 E. Chapman Ave.
