Bahrain Releases Opposition Leader

A top Shiite Muslim cleric was released from prison in Bahrain a day after he was sentenced to 10 years in jail for spying and inciting unrest. An amnesty from the Bahraini ruler wiped away the jail term and a stunning $15.4-million fine for opposition leader Sheik Abdul Amir Jamri. Bahrain TV aired footage of Jamri, 62, reading a letter promising to refrain from anti-government activities.
