VILLA PARK

In an effort to be a little more fair to residents who need to temporarily park a trailer or boat on a public street, the City Council this week introduced an ordinance that allows parking for up to six hours.
City staff’s original proposal was to ban a person from parking, stopping or leaving trailers or other non-motorized vehicles on city streets, except for unloading or loading and for a period not to exceed two hours.
The city cited problems with the storage of boats and trailers on streets.
The council will consider adopting the ordinance March 23.
