Autobytel Shows Off Customizing Program

As part of last week’s unveiling of Intel Corp.’s new Pentium III chip, Irvine-based Autobytel.com Inc. showed off a prototype of a program that allows car buyers to fully customize vehicles over the Internet before they buy.

The 3D Virtual Showroom will give consumers a complete three-dimensional view of vehicles as well as views of all interior and exterior angles.

Autobytel.com has applied for a patent for the system, which will go live on their Web site at https://www.autobytel.com “very soon,” company officials said.
