Ellen Eden; 40-Year Resident of Ventura

Ellen Eden, a longtime Ventura resident, died after a short illness. She was 96.
Eden was born Dec. 21, 1902, in Lincoln Township, Wis. Before she moved to Ventura 40 years ago, she lived in Los Angeles. She was a seamstress who specialized in window covering design. She loved to garden and cook.
Eden won a number of blue ribbons from the county fair for her dishes.
Eden was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford Hall and John Eden; a son, Marvin Ray Hall, and a grandson, Christopher Hall.
Eden is survived by her daughter, Tootie Dehany of Pacific Grove; a brother, Ed Rasmussen of Marshfield, Wis.; a sister, Olga Heinrich of Marshfield; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a family member’s home Feb. 20.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura.
