The City Council has introduced a wording change to an ordinance that deals with picketing private residences. Currently, the ordinance states that it is unlawful for any person to picket before or about a residence. Police Chief Ronald E. Lowenberg said the wording is too vague and difficult to enforce. City Atty. Gail Hutton agreed: “Under current grounds, a person can exercise their rights right up to your front door. This allows for them to express themselves lawfully.” The ordinance is set to be adopted Tuesday.
