Comedian and motivational speaker Alex Valdez will deliver the keynote address at the National Trio Day Celebration, which will be held on Saturday from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Santa Ana College, 1530 W. 17th St. A rally at 2 p.m. in the amphitheater will feature entertainment, speakers and a proclamation from Charles V. Smith, chairman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. The event, sponsored by the Southern California Western Assn. of Educational Opportunity Personnel, will welcome 400 students in 63 Trio programs throughout the Southland. Trio helps students overcome class, social and cultural barriers. Information: (714) 564-6843.
