Mesa Air Taps Ex-Boeing Exec as CFO

Mesa Air Group Inc. hired a former Boeing Co. executive as its new chief financial officer and said it plans to repurchase 10% of its shares. Robert Stone, 43, is Mesa’s third chief financial officer since April 1998. He most recently served as vice president for financial planning and analysis at Boeing, where he worked for more than 20 years. Michael Lotz, Mesa’s chief operating officer, had served as interim CFO since the August departure of Blaine Jones. Jones had rejoined Mesa as CFO in April 1998 after a three-year sabbatical. Mesa shares rose 28 cents to close at $4.69 on the Nasdaq, valuing the repurchase at $16.1 million. The stock has fallen 40% this year.
