It’s a big weekend for specials, including two new animated holiday offerings on Fox, several musical events such as an all-star concert tribute to the late Bob Marley, and even a new “Firing Line” debate.
Tina Turner, Sting and Ladysmith Black Mambazo perform on “The 2nd Nobel Concert for Peace,” tonight at 8 on the Fox Family Channel. The event from Oslo, Norway, honors this year’s recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.
On the latest, “Behind Closed Doors With Joan Lunden,” tonight at 9 on ABC, Lunden goes on a training mission at the Army’s tank school in Kentucky.
A dog helps Santa after Blitzen is hurt in the animated “Olive, the Other Reindeer,” Friday at 8 p.m. on Fox.
Thurgood works as a repo man to earn money for Muriel’s present on “The PJs Christmas Special,” Friday at 9 p.m. on Fox.
“Space Station,” Friday at 9 p.m. on KCET-TV, finds engineers, scientists and astronauts from 16 nations dealing with the challenges and problems of creating an international space station.
The History Channel’s “America Drinks: History in a Glass,” Friday at 9 p.m., looks at the people who created Coke, Pepsi, Kool-Aid and alcoholic beverages.
The Cartoon Network’s “Mil-Looney-um,” beginning Friday at midnight, is a 48-hour marathon featuring more than 300 Looney Tunes cartoons.
Keith Lockhart conducts the Boston Pops on A&E;’s annual “Holiday at Pops 1999” concert, Saturday at 5 and 9 p.m.
Char Margolis gives readings to a studio audience as well as viewer call-ins on the pay-per-view special “Char: A Psychic for the New Millennium,” Saturday at 7 p.m.
Lou Rawls, Kenny G and Jeffrey Osborne sing classic and contemporary holiday songs on “Soul Train Christmas Starfest,” Saturday at 8 p.m. on KTLA.

Erykah Badu, Sheryl Crow, Lauryn Hill and the Marley Family are scheduled to participate in TNT’s “One Love: The Bob Marley All-Star Tribute,” taped earlier this month at the Beach of Oracabessa Bay in Jamaica, Sunday at 8 p.m.
The Learning Channel explores the secrets behind Stephen King’s flair for scaring the daylights out of readers on “Stephen King: Master of the Macabre,” Sunday at 10 p.m.
“Firing Line” presents a debate, “Resolved: The Government Should Not Impose a Tax on Electronic Commerce,” Sunday at 11 p.m. on KCET.

On “Friends,” tonight at 8 on NBC, Joey and his new roommate Janine, Monica and Ross dance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Eve special.
National Geographic Explorer,” Sunday at 8 p.m. on CNBC, offers “Renegade Africa.” The documentary follows a 22-year-old Australian’s journey from Cape Town to Cairo.

“Mickey MouseWorks,” Saturday at 11 a.m. on ABC, offers a new orchestral version of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker,” starring Mickey Mouse.
