SOUTH LOS ANGELES — Call it a case of the Y2K bug biting early.
A Los Angeles artist planning a New Year’s Day dedication ceremony for a block-long, two-story mural said he wants to invite the donors who made it possible--except that he can’t find the list of names.
“A computer glitch wiped out my list of the donors’ names,” Shaam Khufu said Thursday. “I don’t have a copy.”
So Khufu, 52, has issued an open invitation to the two dozen contributors for the noontime unveiling Jan. 1. He also wants to put their names on a plaque.
Khufu is asking donors to call him at (323) 292-2849. He said the unveiling ceremony will include a seven-hour street festival.
