Boeing’s largest engineering union voted overwhelmingly to reject a contract offer from the company, forcing the two sides to return to the bargaining table. Ninety-eight percent of the 10,482 members of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace who cast ballots rejected the contract. Talks between the two sides could resume as early as this week and may involve a federal mediator, a Boeing spokesman said.
