1 Dead in Hit-Run

A 55-year-old Garden Grove man was killed Friday night in a hit-and-run accident, officials said.
The incident happened about 6:42 p.m., at Katella Avenue and Gilbert Street near Anaheim, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A driver made a left turn to go east on Katella and struck the man, throwing him several yards, authorities said. The driver fled the scene. A 54-year-old Santa Ana man was arrested two miles away on Garden Grove Boulevard near Euclid Street by officers who got his description from witnesses.
