Gay and Lesbian Pride Festival Today

Ventura’s first Gay and Lesbian Pride Festival will be held today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at San Buenaventura State Beach.
The Rev. Craig Chapman, pastor of All Saints Parish Church in Ventura, will emcee the festivities.
Local musicians, including Amanda and Beatz & Co., will perform.
Mayor Jim Friedman will present a certificate of recognition to the organizers of the event, the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Ventura.
Organizers predict hundreds will take part in the festivities.
