* Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth, right, and Lisa Vroman will star in Bertolt Brecht’s “The Threepenny Opera” at San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater Sept. 8-Oct. 3. Previews begin Sept. 2. * San Francisco’s Autumn Moon Festival runs Sept. 18-19 on Grant Avenue between California and Pacific. Traditional lion and dragon dances are part of the multicultural entertainment. (415) 982-6306.
* The San Francisco Fringe Festival runs Sept. 9-19. A stateside version of the non-juried Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, it includes 250 performance by 50 groups at multiple venues. * A show of NASA photographs, “Full Moon: Apollo Mission Photographs of the Lunar Landscape,” goes on view at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on Aug. 20. The museum debuts a show of new paintings and works on paper by Jasper Johns Sept. 15. Open daily except Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Open late Thursdays until 9 p.m. $8; $5, seniors; $4, students.
